Dr. Mengistu is the Program Director for CIRHT in Ethiopia. He is a physician and OB/GYN specialist with more than 10 years of clinical and public health programming experience. Previously, he provided strategic leadership and implementation direction with Pathfinder International’s Reproductive Innovative Fund project. Dr. Mengistu served as Advisor to the Federal Ministry of Health for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and manager for the Children Investment Fund Foundation’s Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health project. He is an executive member of the Ethiopian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Ethiopian Medical Association and Ethiopian Public Health Association.
